Annual conference of the EU Defence Agency



Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradovic attended yesterday the annual conference of the European Defence Agency in Brussels where they discussed ways of further development of European capabilities in the field of defence, and the possibilities of promoting research in developing defence technologies at EU level.

The conference was opened by Executive Director of the European Defence Agency, Ambassador Jorge Domecq, while the keynote address was given by European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Elżbieta Bieńkowska. Participants of the conference were also addressed by Federica Mogherini, Head of the European Defence Agency, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

On the sidelines of the conference, acting Assistant Minister Miloradovic met with Executive Director of the European Defence Agency Domecq. On that occasion, both sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation, and Executive Director of the European Defence Agency thanked for the invitation to visit the Republic of Serbia in April next year. In addition to the meeting with Ambassador Domecq, Miloradovic also spoke with representatives of the Member States of the European Union on the challenges in the development of European military capabilities, and the process of further improving research in the field of defence technologies.

The Serbian delegation at the conference also included Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the EU Dusko Lopandic and Chief of the Defence Technology Department of the Ministry of Defence Major General Bojan Zrnic.
