Humanitarian Law Centre continues its campaign against General Dikovic

In latest public appearances Natasa Kandic, former Director of the Humanitarian Law Centre, continues the campaign against General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, linking him to alleged war crimes committed in Kosovo in 1999 and hiding of the bodies of the victims.

Ministry of Defence and the Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic estimate that such public statements directly damage the reputation of the Republic of Serbia and its Armed Forces, an institution that has utmost trust of our citizens.

Because of these accusations, in 2012, General Dikovic launched a lawsuit against the Humanitarian Law Centre and its former Director Natasa Kandic, and the process is ongoing.

According to the daily "Today" in the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor, it has been confirmed to them that after the identification and exhumation of victims in a mass grave in Rudnica preliminary investigation against N.N. is under way, after it had been determined that it was a murder of Albanian civilians. In the preliminary investigation procedure, it is sought to identify the perpetrators of these murders.

The Ministry of Defence indicates that it is unfounded and tendentious to link this preliminary investigation by the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor to the alleged responsibility of General Ljubisa Dikovic as the Commander of the 37th motorized brigade in Kosovo in 1999, which the Humanitarian Law Centre and Natasa Kandic are persistently trying to prove, by submitting criminal charges to the Office and unfounded public statements.
