Meeting with representatives of NATO Programme for building integrity
The meeting of the delegation of the Ministry of Defence with representatives of the NATO program for building integrity, headed by Dr Alberto Bin, Director of the Directorate for Integration, Partnerships and Cooperation in the Sector for Political Affairs and Security Policy of the NATO’s International Staff, was held today at the Ministry of Defence.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of realization of the program activities of NATO Programme for building the integrity in which representatives from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will take part in 2015 and 2016, as well as other kinds of support that NATO can provide in this field.The delegation of the Ministry of Defence was headed by Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy and Chief of the Organization Department of the Defence Policy Sector Major General Sladjan Djordjevic, who pointed out that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces continue the realization of planned activities aimed at developing the ability to build integrity to reduce the risk of corruption, and that it is fully committed to continue participation in the NATO Programme for building integrity, in which it has participated since 2011.
Head of the Strategic Planning Department Brigadier General Slobodan Joksimovic pointed out that, since 2014, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have conducted annual action plans on building integrity which, for the most part, are designed on the basis of recommendations of the NATO expert team formed as a product of Self-evaluation of building integrity to reduce the risk of corruption in the Republic of Serbia.
Thanks to the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and NATO in the field of building integrity, Dr Alberto Bin stressed that the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia has demonstrated efficient work during the participation in the NATO Programme for building integrity and it is expected that the cooperation will continue.
Results of implementation of the Annual Plan of activities to build the integrity of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in 2015 are presented in the publication "Building Integrity: Processes and impacts - Serbia", which contains a more detailed description of the involvement of MoD and SAF in the NATO programme for building integrity.
