Scientific meeting on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the National Defence School
In the House of Guards in Topcider today a scientific symposium to mark the 60th anniversary of the National Defence School is held, in which along with representatives from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces participate representatives of the local academic community as well as guests from abroad.Opening the meeting, Rector of the University of Defence Major General prof. Dr Mladen Vuruna pointed out that this was a continuation of the development line that had been drawn in the Military Academy a few years ago when a task was set to periodically organize a scientific conference on the science of defence.
Speaking about the importance of the Jubilee, Head of the National Defence School Colonel Dr Miroslav Talijan said that the achievements of the educational institution were reflected primarily in the educational process.
- We have schooled more than 800 cadets at the undergraduate level, since the cadet brigade is within the National Defence School. If we
counted from the very beginning of education of young Serbian officers since 1850, one might conclude that an entire city of cadets and privates has completed their education in our institutions of military education. This is more than 60 thousand people - Colonel Talijan said, adding to the current teaching staff at NDS has more than 20 doctors and masters of science.
