Keys to apartments handed over to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces
Expressing satisfaction at the occasion of the meeting, Defence Minister stressed that the handover of the keys is another proof that the financial security and good living conditions of the defence system members is one of the priorities.
- We will continue with the policy of providing housing to the defence system members, and subsidized lending will have a significant role. To date, housing has been provided for 2,205 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. During this year alone, through subsidized loans, will housing issue will be resolved for 653 members of the defence system. In 2015, housing will be provided for 963 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces - Minister Gasic said.
According to him, for the purposes of subsidized loans for employees in the defence system additional funds of the Government have also been allocated in the amount of 200 million dinars, which in total this year amounts to 700 million dinars.
Minister Gasic also pointed to the successful cooperation with the Building Directorate of Serbia on the military complex "Aleksa Dundic" in Zemun.
- For our members another 105 dwellings has been provided, of which 84 in Belgrade, 18 in Novi Sad, two in Cacak and one in Kursumlija. In solving the housing problem of the defence system members in garrisons throughout Serbia, cooperation with local governments also has an important role, so 18 apartments have been obtained for the Army Club in Pirot, the City of Leskovac for the Army Club ceded 20 apartments, Paracin took over the barracks "Branko Krsmanovic" and ceded 17 apartments to the Ministry of Defence, in Gornji Milanovac the Army Club was exchanged for 10 apartments, and the City of Vranje ceded 22 apartments for the shooting range "Bunosevac" - Minister Gasic explained, adding that it is also planned for the sale of objects from the Master Plan to provide another 60 apartments in Novi Sad, Vrsac, Svilajnac, Krusevac and Uzice.
- I wish you to live in your apartments in happiness and bliss. Take care of your home and your loved ones, just as you have taken care of your people, and the state will take care of you - Minister Gasic said to the attendees.
Responding to reporters' questions about the prospects for mass construction of apartments for members of the defence system, Minister Gasic said that intensive work is carried out on providing new housing in accordance with legal regulations, underlining that it is essential that the defence system receives new apartments, unlike in the period until 2012.
- Today, the Board of Revenue makes an assessment and according to it objects of the Serbian Armed Forces are sold, primarily to local governments and above all, to our Republic Directorate - Minister of Defence said.
Minister Gasic also reminded that the apartments in Bezanijska Kosa have been built or are under construction, whose construction began in 1998, which went to a halt by 2013.
- I am proud that our Military Construction Centre is single-handedly completing the apartments which are magnificent - Minister of Defence said.
