Foreign military representatives visited the stand of Odbrana Media Centre
Foreign military representatives accredited in Belgrade visited today the stand of Odbrana Media Centre at the 60th International Belgrade Book Fair.Director of the military institution Colonel Stevica S Karapandzin presented to them the activities of Odbrana Media Centre and releases in the past year, and said that about a hundred titles are published every year.
- Most of these titles are textbooks, rules, regulations, books intended for internal use in the defence system. A smaller portion, but no less important, are the books intended for the general public, to which we present our work every year at the fair - Colonel Karapandzin said.
According to him, the focus of the publishing policy of this institution at this year's Fair is the marking of the centenary of the First World War, as it had been at the previous event dedicated to books.
Of the 14 titles published in 2015, Colonel Karapandzin introduced, among other ones, "Belgrade in the Great War 1914-1918" by Snezana Vicic, "March on the Drina" by Jasna Jojic, "II Call Division of Sumadija (1914-1915) – memoirs of General Dragutin Milutinovic " prepared by Aleksandar Zivotic and "Extremism under the cover of religion" by Milovan Subotic.
Colonel Karapandzin also spoke about the book "1914-2014 Why revision?" by Mile Bjelajac, presented at last year's Fair, and published this year in Russian, and the sold-out edition of "Rankovic case from the archives of KOS" published in 2014, whose second edition is presented at this year's jubilee Fair.
Each year, foreign military representatives visit the fair stand of Odbrana Media Centre in large numbers, interested in new releases, but also in the titles from the fields of their interest. These are mainly military equipment, military journalism, and scientific and educational literature and history, particular titles dedicated to the celebration of the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
