Title
The delegation of the Republic of Serbia marked the 103rd anniversary of the Battle of Kumanovo, with laying of wreaths and paying respects at a monument of the "Victory of the Serbian Army" on Zebrnjak hill near Kumanovo in Macedonia. Wreaths were also laid by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Macedonian Government, diplomatic representatives of foreign countries in Macedonia, and associations of Serbian communities of the neighbouring country that foster tradition of Serbian liberation wars.
The most important battle of the First Balkan War took place in Kumanovo valley on 21 and 22 October 1912. The Serbian Army defeated the then superior Ottoman troops and, after more than five centuries, it brought freedom to the old medieval Serbian areas.
