MinisterGasic visited the Military Institution "Morovic"

Defence Minister BratislavGasic, accompanied by Secretary of State Nenad Neric, visited the Military Institution "Morovic" where he visited a part of facilities and capacities.

During a tour of infrastructure in Morovic and Karadjordjevo, Deputy Director of the institution, Major MiroslavBlagojevic presented the capacities and presented problems and plans of the once renowned military collective, which has been operating since 1948, and its core activities, except agriculture, are to provide hospitality – tourism services, and services in hunting and fishing tourism, as well as wholesale and retail sale of products from its assortment.

Speaking about the difficult period behind the Military Institution "Morovic", characterized by organizational changes and "usurping the area since then powerful tycoons in this part of Serbia" as well as "a rather irresponsible management until 2014", MinisterGasic announced better days for the once exemplary collective.

- Today, we all together conceived a new path, a new direction for the institution, and it is on the management and leadership to implement

it in practice. Our goal is one hundred per cent occupancy, and not only in tourism and hunting tourism, but also in the production of table eggs - Minister Gasicsaid.

- Someone allowed himself the luxury from 2006 to 2010 to leave the buildings that were of great importance for the Serbian Armed Forces, and today we want our facilities to supply us with food, and we will do everything that the Law on Public Procurement and other regulations are met, and that our institution has gain far greater than what is reported for 2015 –Gasicsaidand expressed the hope that in the next year it will be 50 million dinars.

After a tour of the Greenhouse and the Paddock in Karadjordjevo, accompanied by President of the Municipality ofBackaPalankaAleksandarDjeedovac, Minister Gasicconfirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Defence to, after two decades, invest significant funds in the paddock and infrastructure.

- This was once one of the most significant facilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and for 20 years nothing had been invested and only thanks to the enthusiasm of employees, we have managed to preserve Karadjordjevo. In the next ten days, they will receive substantial funds for infrastructure works, and, unlike the period when the stud farm did not even have enough food, we expect that this investment, with excellent cooperation that we have with theMunicipality of BackaPalanka, will ensure that as soon as on 1 May next year the complex is arranged to accommodate a much larger number of people and that, as Mayor suggested, we will symbolically organize a horserace, which will attract a large number of people from BackaPalanka and other cities – Gasicsaid.

Speaking about the very poor condition of the greenhouse, which extends over three hectares, Minister pointed out that the last time something was investedin this building was in 2009.

- It is a great fortune of the Serbian Armed Forces, which has been neglected, virtually destroyed, and some unscrupulous people continue taking away what is left. It is our plan, in cooperation with the Municipality of BackaPalanka, through public works, to start establishing productionat one hectare - Minister Gasicsaidand added that Director of "Morovic" will determinewhich will be the farming culture, and that people employed will come from there.

He confirmed that everything produced will be marketed for the Serbian Armed Forces.
- It is important that until 1 May we put this into operation, and the Municipality ofBackaPalanka, in the spirit of good cooperation, will contribute to the project's success, as we have joined forces for the first time to arrangeKaradjordjevo, disconnected it from the Serbian Armed Forces, and ensured that all utility services are supplied by the municipal utility company - Minister Gasicsaid.
