Anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in WW2




Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Tuesday laid wreaths at the Monument to the Liberators of Belgrade in WW2 and the Monument to the Red Army Soldiers.

After the ceremony, which was conducted with military and state honours, Nikolic paid his respects to all who took part in the liberation of the Serbian capital city during 1944.

Nikolic wrote in the memorial book:

"Serbia is once again facing temptations, but each of us, while making decisions, has before them your deeds and your sacrifice, we will not make mistakes. We must not."
