Exchange of practices in the field of military traffic and transportation



A delegation of the Austrian Armed Forces consisting of Colonel Rudolf Sturmlechner and Colonel Gunther Zippel from the Directorate of Logistics of the Ministry of Defence and Sports of the country paid a visit to the Ministry of Defence of Serbia. The host of the delegation was the Section for Traffic and Transportation of the Department for General Logistics of the Material Resources Sector.

The aim of the visit were expert discussions and exchange of experiences on the organization and processes in the field of military traffic and transportation, transportation of dangerous goods, the experiences of the Centre for the Coordination of traffic and transportation in Austria and the exchange of experiences in the field of use of military vehicles. They also talked about the support of the host country, where members of the Austrian delegation presented their experiences in the field.

Head of the Section for Traffic and Transportation of the Department for General Logistics Department Colonel Danijel Radak presented the changes in the organization of traffic and transportation compared to the previous visit. Colonel Zeljko Rankovic and Lt. Col. Zoran Pesic from the Department for Logistics of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces introduced the guests with the structure and responsibilities of units and organs within SAF in the field of traffic and transportation as well as with the procedures related to the organization of transportation. During the expert discussions, in the part of the support of the host country, Lt. Col. Dejan Jovanovic from the Department for General Logistics also participated.

It was concluded that the continuation of bilateral military cooperation is beneficial for both sides, particularly with regard to the exchange of experiences on implementation of processes in the field of traffic and transportation, rationalization of the use of military vehicles and support of the host country.
