Session of the Collegiums of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of General Staff

At the barracks "Rifat Burdzevic - Trso" in Novi Pazar, the seventh joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the extended Collegium of the Chief of General Staff was held today, at which the senior staff of the defence system discussed current affairs and analysed the situation in the system, with special emphasis on the analysis of the budget in the past nine months and the possibility of equipping.

Today's meeting was also an opportunity for the delivery of military commemorative medals for the successful organization of the military parade "Belgrade 2014 – March of the Victorious." Minister Gasic presented the medals to the members of the Command of the parade, headed by Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, members of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence, members of the extended Collegium of the Chief of General Staff, operative units and the Guard.

On the same occasion, at the end of the ceremony, General Dikovic handed a military commemorative medal to Minister Gasic, and with members of the defence system, the medal handover was attended by Mayors of Novi Pazar, Sjenica and Tutin.

Congratulating the gathered, Minister Gasic pointed out that more than 5,000 military commemorative medals during the previous period have already been awarded to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and in today's joint Collegium awards were presented to the most responsible for the realization of the military parade.

- The ability and readiness of the Serbian Armed Forces, and these people that are here today, to organize in a very short time, after 30 years, this event that is magnificent for Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces, was proven in those days, and even bad weather and rain did not manage to spoil it - Minister Gasic emphasized, adding that on that day all shared the sense of being proud of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Minister Gasic said that the Serbian Armed Forces will carry out all its future tasks in the same way as before, with maximum commitment, responsibility and readiness to respond to the security challenges at any moment, as well as to be there for all of its citizens in its third mission.

- In addition to the natural disasters that have befallen us, and in the current migrant crisis, the Serbian Armed Forces shows how great and responsible it is and how much it helps other state bodies overcome all the problems that may occur - Minister of Defence stressed.

After the meeting and the ceremony, Minister Gasic and General Dikovic, with associates and representatives of local authorities, visited the facilities for accommodation of people, worship space and a part of technical resources in the barracks.
