Minister Gasic inspected factory in Lucani

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic visited today the company Milan Blagojevic – Namenska Ltd. in Lucan, where he met with the management of the company and the Supervisory Board.

Before the meeting, the minister expressed his condolences to the wife of the tragically perished worker Darko Cebic, and said that everything will be done to provide his family and the families of other injured workers with any necessary assistance.

Gasic said that one of the topics of today's meeting was the formation of a team that will deal with raising the level of safety of the workers employed in all the factories of the defence industry.

- Last time, a similar incident happened in the special-purpose plant in Lucani in 2010. We will see what the investigation will show and what the investigating bodies will tell, what exactly led to the accident, Minister Gasic said.

He pointed out that the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior made last year a general inspection of the factory, and this year an audit was carried out, after which it was concluded that there were no defects.

- Workers on that day had absolutely all safety equipment on them, and there is no dilemma. This was confirmed by the General Manager and President of the Union, the Minister said.

Today, before his arrival to Lucan, Gasic visited the injured workers at the MMA who are in good condition which is not life-threatening. Gasic conveyed the greetings they sent to colleagues and families during his inspection of the facility in which the accident occurred, and in front of which he met with the workers.

As a reminder, in the factory Milan Blagojevic - Namenska Ltd. Lucani, on 30th September, around 9 am, there was a fire in the facility for gunpowder production, on the gunpowder kneading machine. On that occasion, four workers were injured and a worker who was injured hardest died at the Military Medical Academy yesterday .
