Multinational exercise NATO SET-189 2015
At the Centre for testing arms and military equipment Nikinci, in organization of the Military Technical Institute, a multinational military exercise NATO SET-189 2015 was conducted. The theme of the exercise was acoustic reconnaissance of the battlefield, multi-mode monitoring and networked reconnaissance for the purposes of the intelligence security reconnaissance ISR.The exercise included members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, and experts from the United States, representatives of research and development institutions (ARL and ARDEC) and the Command for material resources of the Armed Forces of the United States.
The overall objective of the exercise was to assess the current level of capacity development in the field of acoustic reconnaissance of the battlefield and to increase capacities in the stated field in the MoD and SAF, as well as to exchange experiences with foreign partners through the continued active participation in the technical panel NATO STO SET-189 "Acoustic reconnaissance of the battlefield, multi-mode monitoring and networked reconnaissance for the purposes of the intelligence security reconnaissance ISR ".
After the realization of the field exercise, the guests exchanged data collected with different acoustic sensors for data comparison, with the goal of improving methods of research and development related to the acoustic reconnaissance of the battlefield (detection, location and classification of acoustic sources).
