Acknowledgement of the Municipality of Krupanj to Minister Gasic

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic was presented today in Krupanj, on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality, with the Charter with a gold plaque, which was received on his behalf by Chief of cabinet of the Minister of Defence Brigadier General Sinisa Radovic.

The Municipality of Krupanj used the today's ceremony to thank all institutions and individuals who had offered their help and support during the last year's floods.

Decision of the Board for the award of public recognitions, next to the Minister of Defense, also awarded the Charter to Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic, Director of the office for assistance and reconstruction Marko Blagojevic and others.

On behalf of the winners, the guests were addressed by Minister Bogosavljevic Boskovic who acknowledged the local government in its past work, stressing that the state and Krupanj still have a lot of work ahead, especially when it comes to flood prevention.

At today's celebration, the film "Memories of the flood in Krupanj in 2014" was shown, in which the unselfish assistance that members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces provided the villagers and small towns is displayed.

Krupanj is one of 118 municipalities in the country which in last May suffered a catastrophic flood, with whose consequences it is still struggling. In those days, and especially afterwards, the military has done everything to help the residents restore their lives to normal.

After the flood, members of the military were deployed in biological decontamination and disinfection of public spaces, roads, buildings and main roads. They were also deployed in the rehabilitation of landslides and key communications, cleaning the sediment around the endangered houses, breaking roads and the partial reconstruction of local and unclassified roads and fixing of river beds.
