Seminar-workshop in the field of logistics
The Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of the Defence opened a seminar-workshop in the field of logistics called ''Logistics Concepts at the national level. "The seminar, which will last until 25 September, is realized by the General Logistics Department of the Material Resources Sector, in cooperation with the Centre for Civil-Military Relations of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA.
The Center for Civil-Military Relations is a three-member team, and, in addition to representatives of the MRS General Logistics Department, the seminar – workshop will be attended by representatives from organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
The aim of the seminar is to gain certain knowledge and exchange experience in the process of modeling the logistic support system, its optimization, raising effectiveness and realization of the functional connection between the acquisition and executive logistics.
Topics that will be discussed are the functional integration of the acquisition and executive logistics with the establishment of a clear organizational separation and optimization of the executive logistics, i.e., increasing the effectiveness of logistics support of the Serbian Armed Forces.During the workshops, presentations and discussions are planned concerning the concept of logistic support, policy and principles of logistics, organization and structure of the logistics system in the MoD and SAF, the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the logistics system in the MoD and SAF, and other matters.
In addition, a one-day mini exercise is planned, conceived as interactive work of all participants in the drafting of the concept of logistics in the MoD and SAF, also with the goal of developing reform initiatives and efficiency.
The seminar-workshop is realized according to the Plan of activities and cooperation of the Serbia - US Joint Commission on Defence Reform.
