Seminar on human resource management



Seminar on the work of the personnel service bodies in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, organized by the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Defence for the fourth consecutive year, was held today in the House of Guards in Topcider. The occasion for the gathering was to summarize the results achieved in the field of human resource management as well as to find the answers to the most important questions in the field of operation of the personnel service, through the exchange of ideas and experiences, and coordinate the operations of the personnel service bodies at all levels of organisation.

The seminar was opened by Nenad Neric, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence while the work of the seminar was facilitated by Brigadier General Dragosav Lackovic, Head of Personnel Department. In his opening speech he spoke about the work of the personnel department and main tasks in human resource management in the forthcoming period. The opening of the seminar was also attended by Brigadier General Stojan Konjikovac, Head of Human Resources Department (J-1) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

Among the many topics that were discussed at today's seminar, the issues related to the selection and management of personnel as well as defining a single process and procedure of direct admission to the professional military service of soldiers during the voluntary military service was specially emphasized.

Discussion of the current topics at today's seminar was intended for giving joint contribution to building a more efficient and innovative human resource management in the defence system which, in addition to capability-based management of the personnel, allows for a more objective system of assessment and evaluation of the results using scientific methods and the creation of uniform standard operating procedures in human resources management system.
