New generation of soldiers arrives



From 1 September, in three training centres of the Serbian Armed Forces in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, there will be 600 candidates for voluntary military service under arms. On the same day, 42 candidates who have completed appropriate schools will be admitted to the Military Academy on course for reserve officers in armoured and anti-aircraft artillery and missile units, technical and quartermaster service, while the Military Medical Academy will admit 13 candidates for future medical reserve officers.

Interest for voluntary military service and reserve officer course in September was shown by 1,673 candidates, representing 255 per cent of the Referral Plan. Among them 226 women signed up (184 for voluntary military service and 42 for the reserve officer course).

This year, the interest in voluntary military service under arms among the young people continues to be high. In the next, the December referral period, another 600 candidates will be sent to training centres of the Serbian Armed Forces for the voluntary military service.
