Minister Gasic visits Kragujevac

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic was in Kragujevac today where he met with representatives of "Zastava Arms" headed by the Director of that company Milojko Brzakovic, as well as with the Mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic. The reason for the meetings is solving the problems faced by that Kragujevac factory of the defence industry.

After the talks in "Zastava Arms" Minister Gasic stressed that no government in the previous period rendered as strong support to factories of the defence industry as the current does.

- All of us would be very sorry if the management and workers of these companies are not able to recognise that and do all their best that these factories remain golden factories of the Serbian defence industry and become a key driver of the reindustrialisation of our country in the forthcoming period – the Minister of Defence stressed, adding that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is ready to invest significant resources in those factories, as well as that making the decision to which programs to invest and what will be the gain for the defence production is more than six months late.

Speaking about the meeting with the management of "Zastava Arms" Minister Gasic pointed out that the talks were also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, in order to solve the issue of debts of "Zastava Inpro" to "Zastava Arms", as well as issues of division of administrative building between the "Zastava Trucks" and "Zastava Arms".

- The third point was related to the investment of four and a half million euros to machines that are absolutely necessary for "Zastava Arms" in order to be able to come up with a quality product, and it seems to me, to regret of all of us that at this point it is such ambient in the world that the products of that factory are in demand – Minister Gasic pointed out adding that they also talked about the "Metal Systems" company and transfer of machines that are necessary for "Zastava Arms".
