Farewell call by the Tunisian Ambassador

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic received the farewell call by the Ambassador of Tunisia Majid Hamlaoui and thanked him for his contribution in strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Gasic expressed regret because of the terrorist attacks that have recently occurred in Tunisia and belief that the efforts made by the international coalition of countries will contribute to establishing full security in the territory of the countries affected by Islamic terrorism.

It was concluded at the meeting that the good political relations between Serbia and Tunisia provide an excellent basis for the development and promotion of defence cooperation, which should result in the signing of a defence cooperation agreement between the two ministries. This would create a legal framework for future cooperation in all fields of common interest, and it was concluded that there are significant opportunities in the fields of military education, military medicine and military economic cooperation.

Minister Gasic thanked the Ambassador Hamlaoui also for the principled support to our legitimate efforts to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo and Metohija.
