General Dikovic in the south of Serbia



Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic and his associates visited today the SAF units in South base, Borovac training ground, Gornji Vrtogos shooting range, Reception Center for migrants in Presevo, Consolidated Headquarters for monitoring of the security situation in the area near the Republic of Macedonia, and facilities in Bujanovac that members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard are renovating within the framework of the joint project "Humanitarian Assistance".

In the South base, General Dikovic was introduced with the directions of the development of the Centre for the training of units for multinational operations and visited the newly built Simulation Centre and training facilities at Borovac training ground.

During his stay in the south of Serbia, Chief of General Staff visited the shooting range Gornji Vrtogos, where works are currently under constriction, and at the Consolidated Headquarters for monitoring of the security situation in the area near the Republic of Macedonia he was informed about the current security situation. At the Reception Centre for migrants, General Dikovic visited members of the Military Hospital in Nis that provide medical services to a large number of migrants, and was assured through conversations with migrants that the existence of the Reception Centre is of great importance for their safety and recovery after a long trip.

In Bujanovac, General Dikovic visited the preschool facility Nasa Radost and the School for Elementary Music Education, in which members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard are implementing the joint project "Humanitarian Assistance". The visit was also accompanied by US Defence Attaché to Serbia Colonel Taft Blackburn and representatives of the Municipality of Bujanovac. Works are carried out as planned, and excellent relations between officers and soldiers of the two armies have been established on construction sites.
