Exhibition about Sumadija Division opened in the Military Museum
In the course of the celebration of 100 years since the beginning of the Great War, today, in the Military Museum, an exhibition titled "Sumadija Division from 1914 to 1918" was opened. The exhibition realized in cooperation of the National Museum Kraljevo, the Historical Archive of Kraljevo and Kragujevac National Museum was opened by Acting Assistant Minister for Human Resources Milos Jankovic.
On several dozen displayed panels, more than 300 items are presented - weapons and military equipment, uniforms, military letters, correspondence cards and previously unknown photos developed from negatives on glass.According to the Assistant Minister, Sumadija Division had given a remarkable contribution in significant actions. He spoke about the role and formation of the Division during combat, as well as the positions and its most glorious moments.
Museum consultant and Director of Kraljevo Museum Miloljub Arsic pointed out that the exhibition had been set up thanks to collections and funds of archival build of the aforementioned institutions, but that they had also been greatly assisted by descendants of the members of Sumadija Division, providing insight into letters and unpublished photos.
The exhibition has been successfully presented in Kraljevo and Kragujevac.
