New apartments for members of the defence system

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, accompanied by Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, handed over today at the Great Warrior Hall of the Old General Staff keys to 20 apartments to MoD and SAF members.

Congratulating the gathered and their families, Minister Gasic conveyed his hope that the day would remain in their good memory.

- Perhaps some of you lost hope and did not believe this day would come. However, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces put the resolution of the housing issue as one of the top priorities in preserving, and, I believe, improving of standard of all their members – he stressed.

Minister Gasic stated that 87 apartments had been given this year, that another 47 apartments would be given soon, and that 126 families were to be settled in the new apartments by the end of the year.

- I would also point out he fact that military personnel is interested in subsidized housing loans, for which we have allocated 500 million dinars in 2015. In this year alone, 243 members resolved the housing issue this way. Due to large interest in housing loans, we intend to allocate another 200 million dinars by the end of 2015 – Minister of Defence said.

Today, the keys have been handed over to apartments located in Belgrade, Leskovac, Valjevo, Gornji Milanovac, Zajecar and Sombor.
