A three-member delegation of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany started today in Belgrade two-day expert talks on military movement and transportation with representatives of the Department of Movement and Transportation of the General Logistics Department of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence.

It is the continuation of cooperation started in 2006, within which the representatives of the two armies meet every two years exchanging experiences regarding the organization of movement and transportation, use of vehicles, training of drivers and transportation of dangerous goods.

According to Colonel Zeljko Rankovic, Head of the Department of Movement and Transportation of the General Logistics, SMR, experience of the guests is of particular importance for us in the implementation of their specific model of vehicle use, which is unique.

- Although the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany have much larger capacities of their car pool, due to economic and other reasons, they streamlined their expenditures to the maximum. They have rich state and the army does not lack any resources, but they take into account the costs of movement and transportation, and their experiences in this field are very important to us – Colonel Rankovic says.

The head of delegation of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany, Lieutenant Colonel Wolfgang Defner, expressed his satisfaction with another visit to the Serbian Armed Forces and that the cooperation, which he called "a very significant exchange of experiences", takes place to the mutual satisfaction and expressed the hope that it will be continued also in the future.
