Exercise "Graduate 2015" successfully conducted

At the mixed shooting ground "Pasuljanske livade" near Curpija the final year cadets of the 136th class of the Military Academy have successfully developed a tactical exercise with live firing "Graduate 2015". This way, they gave a practical presentation of what they had learned during their four-year studies and confirmed that they are prepared to conduct the most complex tasks that come with the officer calling they have chosen.

The execution of the exercise was attended by Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Milos Jankovic, Head of the Military Academy Major General Goran Zekovic with associates, Head of Department for Training and Doctrine of the General Staff (J-7) Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic, representatives of MoD, Land Forces Command, Training Command and the camp space.

The goal of the exercise and several days of camping of cadets of the finishing year of the Infantry Module, Armor Units, Engineering and Telecommunication at the shooting ground "Pasuljanske livade" was for cadets to learn to handle in practice the contents of knowing and using the arms, equipment and tactics of their service, and to command over a section or a platoon.

The exercise began with a display of maintaining communications links of the telecommunication center of the Land Forces Brigade, and then future platoon commanders and gunners demonstrated the work of tank and mechanized platoon in preparation for the march and battle.

The pinnacle of "Graduate 2015" was the realization of tactical live firing exercises entitled "Strengthened firing squad in defence" and "Tank platoon reinforced with mechanized department in the attack on the move." During the first segment, cadets from infantry service successfully responded to the assigned tactical situation in the field and neutralized enemy means and live force. Section commanders successfully presented issuing commands for fire and moving of gunner sections from basic to reserve positions.
Armoured units cadets displayed leading tank platoon into combat and joint actions of tanks upon the spotted target, with successful display of actions against tank hunters and anti-tank helicopters.

Congratulating the cadets on a successfully performed live firing exercise, Head of the Military Academy Major General Mladen Vuruna told the cadets that today's exercise was a culmination of the training of cadets of 136th class.

- We had the opportunity to see the training and effective and useful actions of the platoon, with excellent firing effects. The methodology of cadets’ work was excellent, which sends a good message in the wake of their taking over the duties of platoon commanders – General Zekovic said, and specifically stressed the fact that the cadets had been present in all services and crews, from servers, to section commanders and platoon commanders, which was an invaluable experience for starting duties in the troop.

The cadets of the final year at Military Academy’s study programs, after today's exercise, are to pass their final exams and thesis, and in late summer, in front of the Serbian Parliament, they will be officially promoted to the rank of second lieutenants in SAF.
