Concert of Binicki on Vidovdan celebration

In movie theater in Krusevac, in the course of Vidovdan celebration, the MoD Art Ensemble Stanislav Binicki held a concert tonight, which was attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Mayor of Krusevac Dragi Nestorovic, and representatives of the City, clergy and vast audience.

This has been the third participation of the Binicki Ensemble at the manifestation Vidovdan celebration, which is traditionally held in Krusevac.

Conducted by Katarina Bozic, the Ensemble and Krusevac Choir Saint Prince Lazar performed compositions Rise up, Serbia, The French Boat is Sailing, There, Far Away, Serbian Girl, Hey, Serbia, Dear Mother, and This is Serbia, which was completed by solo vocal performance of baritone Aleksa Vasic.

Maestro Pavle Medakovic conducted the ensemble for the compositions March of King Petar I, Suvobor, Pukni Zoro, sang by Vasic, Duke Stepa’s March, Vidovdan, and the French March, and, as a surprise gift for the audience, the ensemble performed a compilation of traditional Greek songs.

The Krusevac audience applauded throughout the concert, and the last composition, March on the Drina, was performed once more, after the call for an encore.

The program Vidovdan 2015 began on 8th June, and will last until 28th June. The general sponsor is the City of Krusevac, and in the 20 days, various programs and manifestations in the field of culture, science, art and sports have been organized.
