Assembly on multinational operations



The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will also discuss subjects in the field of defence at today’s ninth extraordinary session.

The agenda will feature the proposition of the Law on confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation on military-technical cooperation and the proposition of he Law on confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Belarus on cooperation in the field of defence.

The National Assembly will also receive the proposition of the Decision on deployment of SAF members in multinational operations in 2015, and the proposition of the Decision on adopting of the Annual Plan of use of the Serbian Armed Forces and other defence forces in multinational operations in 2015.

Considering the importance of the engagement of SAF in multinational operations, the Government’s proposal is to adopt the aforementioned decisions urgently.

Considering the fact that the engagement in peacekeeping missions contributes to the image of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia in the world, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are currently deployed in ten multinational operations, seven under the auspices of UN, and the remaining three are EU operations.
