Congratulations by the Minister of Defence on the occasion of the Service of Air Surveillance and Reporting

I congratulate to the members of the Service of Air Surveillance and Reporting on 18 June – the Day of the service.

On this day in 1915, Serbian Military Command issued the Order to form permanent surveillance signaling stations, for marking the course of flight of enemy aircraft. Based on that, several stations in areas of Drina, Timok and Combined Division were formed in the Third Army.

Continuing the tradition a century long, owing to the good training and skills, members of your service give a significant contribution to the functioning of air surveillance system and reporting, and thus to the Air Force and Air Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces as a whole.

In the past period, you have achieved noticeable results in the past period in the domain of increasing command efficiency in the air defence system, as well as in modifying and maintaining radar computer systems, in training, education and further professional training of the staff, and in working at the orderly system of air defence.

I congratulate you on your jubilee, convinced that, with the planned acquisition of air surveillance-computer equipment, vehicles and other arms and military equipment, you will modernize our air surveillance and reporting system and thus improve the control of our air space.
