The Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence Stanislav Binicki held two performances, on 5th June at the Centre for culture and art of the Municipality of Aleksinac and on 6th June in Grejac.

The concert in Aleksinac was held on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality. Conducted by Major Igor Mitrovic, the concert included well-known songs and marches, such as “There, far away”, “March of Duke Stepa” and “March of Milan Obrenovic”, and the attractive musical program was completed with songs “Pukni zoro”, “Ja sam ja, Jeremija”, “Marijo, bela kumrijo” and “Igrale se delije”, performed by soloists Dejan Pesic and Danka Stojiljkovic. The concert was attended by President of the Municipality of Aleksinac Nenad Stankovic and representatives of the municipality authorities, Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

On the same day, a ceremonial march of the Nis Military Orchestra was held.

This repertoire also included other popular arias, such as “Bojarka”, “Royal kolo” and “March of King Aleksandar”. The cultural musical program was enriched by pupils of Aca Sinadinovic Elementary School with songs, acting and recitals. Representatives of the Nis Military Orchestra held an “open musical class” for the gathered children, with a demonstration of “handling” musical instruments.

The Military Music School of the Serbian Army was established within Morava Division in Nis in 1915, and was located for some time in the building of the Elementary School in Grejac, where today’s concert was held. On this occasion, a memorial plaque was placed on the building of the school, unveiled by Commander of the Land Forces Lieutenant General Milosav Simovic and President of the Municipality of Aleksinac Nenad Stankovic.

The Aleksinac audience was thrilled by the repertoires and the performances of the Art Ensemble Stanislav Binicki, and awarded it with salvos of applause after both concerts, and the host particularly stressed the gratitude for the support and participation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in these events.
