Initiative for easier determination of the right to pension
Representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy held a meeting where they discussed ways to advance the procedure of determining the right to pension and the making of resolutions on retirement of persons whose professional military service ended.During the talks initiated by Minister Bratislav Gasic, it has been agreed for the PIO Fund to appoint a contact person that will inform interested persons about the procedure and assist in the process of acquiring documentation for achieving the right to pension.
During the meeting, it has been concluded that the joint work on resolving the matters of military pensioners would continue, and, upon the request of the Ministry of Defence, PIO Fund will assign a contact person that will inform the persons whose professional military service has ended and assist in the process of acquiring documentation for achieving the right to pension.
Another conclusions of the meeting is the recommendation that the persons employed at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces should turn to the authorized branch of PIO Fund in the year that they fulfill the conditions for pension, so they can acquire listings on their years of service and salary, so they can check the data on paid contributions. Moreover, users of military insurance were suggested to take the PIN in the nearest branch of PIO Fund to check their data on years of service and salary via Internet.
Participants of the meeting, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic and Assistant Minister for of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Zoran Milosevic also agreed on intensification of communication and new meetings that would continue the resolving of the issue at hand.
