Rotation of the SAF contingent in UNIFIL multinational operation
At Nis Constantine the Great Airport, a rotation of the SAF contingent in UNIFIL multinational operation in the Republic of Lebanon was conducted today. First, 130 members of the infantry company of the First Army Brigade and 12 staff officers landed, after six moths of conducting tasks of preserving peace in East Sector of the UNIFIL multinational operations. The unit headed by Captain Ivan Jovanovic had conducted all tasks in the area of responsibility impeccably and significantly contributed to security in the area. Their place in the Republic of Lebanon will be taken by 12 staff officers, senior staff and soldiers of the infantry company of the Fourth Army Brigade, headed by Major Goran Dejanovic.
They took the same plane to Lebanon.The arrival of the infantry company of the First Brigade and seeing off of the Infantry company of the Fourth Brigade were attended by Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command Major General Slavoljub Janicijevic, Army Chief of Staff Brigadier General Zarko Lazarevic and other guests.
General Draganic greeted the members of the First Army Brigade that had returned from the Republic of Lebanon and stressed:
“You have conducted the tasks well, responsibly and professionally, and made our state and the Serbian Armed Forces proud, and I commend you for that. Use the acquired experience in your future work in units and transfer it to others.”
The Force Protection Platoon from the formation of the Third Battalion of the Military Police will leave for Lebanon on 11th June and join the international forces at Sector West.
