Exhibition "Serbian Ambulance 1914-1918" opened

Authors of the exhibition are Dr. Mirko Pekovic from the Military Museum in Belgrade, Gordana Bulovic from the Museum of Novi Sad and Branislav Stankovic from the National Museum in Sabac.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, MoD and General Staff representatives and many citizens of Belgrade.
Acting Assistant Minister for human resources Milos Jankovic conveyed his pleasure that, in the year of marking the centenary of the Great War, in one of the most significant cultural institutions in our country, he was opening the exhibition that, while presenting a large number of reconstructions and original items, and a lot of interesting follow-up content, presented the history of the Serbian ambulance and its important role during the Great War.
Passing through the military tent with ambulance beds, like through a unique time gate, the visitors were brought to the military ambulance at the Gallery of the Military Museum, the same as it was a hundred years ago. There are many photographs, graphics, video recordings, ambulance instruments and material, replicas of deployable ambulance beds, covers for several soldiers, carriers, a farm cart for transportation of the wounded from the first front line to the nearest deployable medical facility...

The ceremony also included the performance of the church choir „St. John the Theologian“ from Sabac, which performed the anthem of the Republic of Serbia and the composition “This is Serbia”. The audience also had the chance to watch the digital overview of important historical moments from the period 1914-1918. The building of the Museum served as the screen for the short film.
The exhibition will be open until 12th July, each day except on Mondays, from 10.00 to 17.00.
