Seventh Futsal Cup for Peace closed



The ceremonial closing and announcement of winners at the five-day 7th CISM Futsal Cup for Peace was held tonight at the sports hall of the Elementary School Zarko Zrenjanin in Apatin.

Winner of the tournament was the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who defeated Serbia’s team, while third place was won by Slovenia, who defeated Croatia.

In the dramatic finale, teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia shot penalty kicks after the score of 3:3. The third place was won by Slovenia at 7:4.

The cups and medals were handed to the participants by CISM Secretary General Colonel Dora Mambi Koita and Brigadier General Sinisa Radovic, Chief of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia at CISM, who stressed the importance of such meetings and development of military sports, and wished the next year’s host, the Republic of Croatia, much success with the organization of the 8th CISM Futsal Cup for Peace.

The participants were also addressed by Colonel Koita, President of the Municipality of Apatin Dr. Zivorad Smiljanic and Mayor of Sombor Sasa Todorovic.

The participating teams competed in matches held in Mostonga hall in Sombor and the hall of the Apatin school.

The co-organizers of the tournament were the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, West Backa District, Municipality of Apatin, and the City of Sombor, while 1st Training Center Sombor and the Serbian Delegation to CISM provided technical support for the realization of the tournament.
