During the tour, Minister Gasic and Ambassador Moro had the opportunity to learn more about the Center and its importance in the defence system, about the use of simulation programs, and to see the classrooms where training is conducted.

According to head of the Center for Simulations and Distance Learning of the Military Academy Colonel Goran Simic, in 2010, the French Ministry of Defence had donated the constructive simulations software “Janus” worth 500 thousand euros, and a half year later, this center had become fully operative for its use. The French side also trains software operators, and provides technical support for its maintenance.

The latest software version, he added, enables flood simulation, which is very important when it comes to the third mission of our Armed Forces.

The Center was formed in the course of bilateral military cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of France, with the goal of including simulations in the teaching process on various levels of education at the Military Academy.
