The eighth session of the Government Policy Council for execution of National Action Plan (NAP) for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia (2010-2015) was held today at the Central Military Club in Belgrade, and was attended by members of the Analytical Group of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, which held its 19th meeting.

State secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, who had recently been admitted to the Policy Council by the Government of Serbia, chaired the session, during which it was agreed for Stana Bozovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, to be delegated as a Council member for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of the UN human rights mechanisms.

Participants of the session discussed the realization of planned activities of both institutional bodies on the implementation of NAP, and unanimously generally adopted the Report of the Multi-sector Coordination Body on the implementation of the 2014 Plan, devised by the Ministry of Interior.

During the discussion on the creation of the Policy Council Report about the implementation of NAP in 2014, the Policy Council made the decision on forming a workgroup for creation of this document, which will include Stana Bozovic, as the head of the group, and members Radmila Selakovic, Dr. Biljana Stojkovic and Marija Jakovljevic. The workgroup will present the draft of the report at the PC’s session in June, after which the proposal of this act will be submitted to authorized organs of the public administrations for consideration and subsequently to the Government for the approval. The Council also discussed the preparation of realization of the dialogue with institutional bodies and mechanisms for implementation of NAP, civil society organizations, representatives of the academic community and media about the present results of implementation of NAP for possible creation of a new action plan.

At the end of the session, the Policy Council was informed about the structure, methods and results of the work of the Analytical Group of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
