Acknowledgement handover for participation in the Moscow parade




Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic handed over today, in Dedinje barracks, acknowledgments of the national echelon that had taken part in the Victory Parade in Moscow, held on 9th May on the occasion of 70 years since the victory over fascism.

General Dikovic congratulated them on highly successful and worthy representation of our country, which fully justified the trust of the state authorities and greatly contributed to the improvement of the worldwide reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia.

- As members of the national SAF echelon, you were worthy representatives of your country, professional, trained, admirable, glorious, just like the tradition of our glorious Guard units – General Dikovic said.

According to him, they marched flawlessly and proudly on the glorious square, to our joy and pride.

- You marched proudly, in glory of Serbia and the victory, and, to the joy of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia, showed that Serbia has a strong, brave and modern military, whose members are firm, decisive and loyal to their country – General Dikovic stated.

Guard Commander Major General Milomir Todorovic stressed that, with their proud march, the members of the national echelon had stressed the true battle for preservation of peace, respect for sovereignty of states and peoples and the importance of building equal international relations and cooperation.

- Your experience will be of crucial importance for future marches of our soldiers in honour and glory of our fatherland at liberation manifestations of states and peoples in the future – General Todorovic said.

Guard Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Vukajlovic thanked on behalf of the national echelon for the entrusted opportunity to worthily represent their military and state in Moscow.

- I would like to thank everyone for the support and the opportunity to march along 10 foreign armies and to demonstrate the desire, strength and skills of the Serbian Armed Forces – Lieutenant Colonel Vukajlovic said.

75 SAF members participated in the Victory Parade in Moscow - 72 Guard members and 1 member of the Army, Air Forces and Air Defence, and the Training Command each.
