Minister Gasic met with Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia Lieutenant General Goranco Koteski stated that the good bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Macedonia is the result of continued political dialogue and the practice of joint government sessions.

The interlocutors also agreed that the cooperation in the field of defence follows the good political relations. The key fields of cooperation in the field of defence are military education, military medicine and joint participation in multilateral exercises.

Gasic and Koteski stressed that another confirmation of the good cooperation in the field of defence is the fact that the Ministry of Serbia has the largest number of planned activities for this year with the Ministry of Defence of Macedonia. With regular meetings between chiefs of general staff, the practice of holding bilateral defence consultations between heads of international military cooperation departments has also been implemented. With this, the agreement has been achieved on participation of MoD and SAF members in courses and seminars in Macedonia, which had previously been disenabled by invitations also sent to representatives of the so-called Republic of Kosovo.

Macedonian Defence Minister visited Serbia in October last year, and a visit of Minister Gasic to Macedonia has been planned for the second half of the year.
