Continued support of the Kingdom of Denmark for initiated projects in the field of defence



Bilateral defence consultations between the ministries of defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Denmark were held today in Belgrade, and on this occasion, the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2015 was signed.

Наставак подршке Краљевине Данске започетим пројектима у области одбране During the bilateral defence consultations, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Nestorovic from the Department for International Military Cooperation and retired Colonel Kurt Refsgaard said that they were content with the achieved level of cooperation in the field of defence.

As one of the largest donors, with its expert and financial aid, the Kingdom of Denmark enabled the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to reach compatibility with armed forces of partner countries through reforms and changes. Lieutenant Colonel Nestorovic introduced his interlocutor with the goals of the Republic of Serbia during its OSCE chairmanship, activities of the Ministry of Defence in the process of the accession to the European Union, cooperation mechanisms within the Partnership for Peace Program, and with active deployments of MoD and SAF members in multinational operations and plans for increased deployment in future period.

Colonel Refsgaard restated that the Kingdom of Denmark supports the improvement of the Republic of Serbia and countries of the Western Balkans on their path towards the European Union. He stressed the readiness of the Danish side to continue its support for the initiated projects in the next two years, especially in the fields of military aviation, psychology activities and information support.

Both sides stated that the meeting at ministerial level would significantly contribute to determination of further steps of cooperation in the field of defence.
