Concert on the Guard Day




On the occasion of marking the Day of the Serbian Guard – 6th May, tonight, at the Guard House in Topcider, the ceremonial concert of the Representative Guard Orchestra and the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence Stanislav Binicki was held.

The concert was attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic, MoD and SAF members and numerous guests.

The Orchestra and the Ensemble were conducted by Major Igor Mitrovic, Captain Aleksandar Djurov, maestro Pavle Medakovic and Vladimir Mustajbasic, and the repertoire included compositions Neretva, Povratak Otpisanih, Russian March, There, Far Away, Under the Paris Sky, Guard March and Balkan Impressions, with guest solo performance by Bozidar Boki Milosevic.

As a token of gratitude for the support in strengthening operative and functional capabilities of the Guard, the deserving individuals and companies were handed letters of thanks by Guard Commander General Milomir Todorovic.

Members of the Serbian Guard mark their day and christened Slava on George's day. The Guard continues the 185 years-long tradition, when, by the decree of Prince Milos Obrenovic, the Prince's Guard

was formed.
