Chief of General Staff spoke with Commander of the UN mission in Lebanon
Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic met yesterday in Nakura (Lebanon) with Commander of the UN multinational operation in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major General Luciano Portolano. Generals Dikovic and Portolano discussed the current political security situation in Lebanon and in the Near East, and the present SAF deployment in the UN mission in Lebanon.
The SAF delegation also visited Sector West of this mission and spoke with Sector Commander Brigadier General Salvatore Cuoci. At the UN position 1-26, General Dikovic was greeted by SAF members from the formation of the force protection platoon that is deployed in the Italian battalion in UNIFIL.
The delegation also visited the Orthodox monastery in Deir Mimas, where the SAF members are always welcome.
