Meeting of Executive Committee of the European Commission for Road Safety in the Armed Forces
Work meeting of the European Commission for Road Safety in the Armed Forces (ECRAF) was held at the General Logistics Department, for preparation for the upcoming XIV Commission Congress that will be held in September in our country.
The European Commission for Road Safety in the Armed Forces is an independent organization of experts from Armed Forces of European countries, established in 2002 when it separated from PRI – La Prévention Routière Internationale, with the goal of achieving easier exchange of ideas, initiatives and campaigns in the field of road safety between Armed Forces of European countries. This Commission’s mission is to promote road safety in Armed Forces in Europe and during deployments in multinational missions and operations. With the exchange of ideas, analysis of road safety and development of recommendations, the Commission aims to adopt examples of “good practices” and standardize the procedures in managing road safety in Armed Forces. The Commission consists of 26 member states with the right to vote and Israel as an observer country.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia became a member of the Commission at the General Assembly of X Congress held in 2011 in the Czech Republic. It is estimated that representatives of 20 member countries will participate in the upcoming Congress in September.
