General Dikovic visited the SAF members in the mission in Cyprus



Генерал Диковић обишао припаднике Војске Србије у мисији на КипруYesterday, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic visited the SAF members deployed in the UN multinational operation in Cyprus (UNFICYP). The SAF delegation also included Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Command Major General Slavoljub Janicijevic and First Army Brigade Commander Brigadier General Zeljko Petrovic.

The visit began at the UN Camp Saint Istvan in Cyprian village Athienou, where General Dikovic spoke with Deputy Commander of Sector 4, who is also the Commander of the Hungarian contingent in Cyprus, and with the SAF members.

In base Stefan Nemanja where the SAF platoon is located, Platoon Commander Captain Marko Markovic reported to General Dikovic about the platoon’s tasks, authorities and obligations during the mission and the organization of life and work. Chief of General Staff then visited the zone of responsibility of the Serbian platoon in Sector 4.

In Camp General Stefanik, Chief of General Staff was greeted by Lieutenant Colonel Jaroslav Bitala, Commander of Sector 4. In the Serbian Club in this camp, General Dikovic spoke with members of the Serbian contingent.

Генерал Диковић обишао припаднике Војске Србије у мисији на КипруGeneral Dikovic assessed that the SAF members conduct all tasks of this multinational operation professionally, that they are excellently trained and possess all necessary capabilities, and that they worthily represent the Republic of Serbia with their work and military relation to their tasks.

SAF members were first deployed to the UNFICYP mission on 21st October 2010. So far, 368 SAF members have been deployed in this mission, and 46 of our members are currently deployed in the mission.

General Dikovic will visit the SAF members in Lebanon today.
