First part of the shooting of "Cizmasi" series in Topcider barracks

First scenes of the live-action series “Cizmasi”, based on the work of academic Dragoslav Mihajlovic and directed by Dejan Zecevic, were shot today at Topcider barracks. This is a project of Radio Television of Serbia and the production company Eye to Eye, whose first episodes will be aired in autumn.

Chief of the General Staff general Ljubisa Dikovic visited the crew today with his associates, and wished them successful work on the project in the following days.

According to producer Goran Susljik, the scenario was written based on the anthological novel “Cizmasi” by Djordje Milosavljevic. The acting crew is lead by Aleksandar Bercek, and many young actors will have the opportunity to play numerous episode roles.

- This is a story of a subaltern of the former Yugoslav Army, Zika Kurjak, from his childhood days in a mining area, his days of military service, to severe depression, prison and the big city sanitarium – Susljik stressed, expressing great gratitude to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, for their help without which the project could not have been realized.

The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, with advice from the profession, enabled for the shooting to take place in Topcider and Dedinje barracks, and in training field Pasuljanske livade near Cuprija, and there will be “real” soldiers among the numerous extras in the set, this time wearing uniforms from the beginning of the last century.

The novel “Cizmasi” received the NIN Novel Award in 1993, and was the most read book according to the traditional poll of the National Library of Serbia the following year.
