Promotion of the new "Be a professional" video
In the course of marking the Day of the Armed Forces of Serbia – April 23, the sixth video of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces “Be a professional”, which continued the campaign for the support of the professionalization of the Armed Forces that had begun in 2010, before the end of mandatory military service.
The promotion of the video which displays a work day of a soldier of the mechanized battalion, a firer on an infantry combat vehicle was attended by Head of the Public Relations Department Battleship Captain Petar Boskovic, Director of Zastava Film and the author of the video Lieutenant Colonel Mate Vujinovic, Corvette Captain Jovan Krivokapic, director Danilo Paskvan, and actor Bojan Peric.- Considering the increasing interest in the military calling in the last few years and the fact that over 2,500 interested applied for around 600 posts in voluntary military service this March, we believe that the previous videos have achieved the intended goal - Corvette Captain Jovan Krivokapic said, adding that the same is expected with this one, where the main role is played by actor Bojan Peric, star of the series Military Academy.
Colonel Mate Vujinovic stressed the importance of research conducted for shooting of the video.
- The appraisals we have received for the quality of the previous videos of “Be a professional” series also included one interesting remark – that we mostly presented the more attractive units, aviation or helicopter squadrons and SAF special units, which do compose a significantly smaller part of the Armed Forces. This is why, this time, we opted for the mechanized unit and presented a “regular” workday of a soldier, a firer. We believe that this will earn confirmation with the young people, interested in the military calling that does not always carry a large dose of risk, although it exists by definition – Lieutenant Colonel Vujinovic said.
Discussing he seven-day shooting at the mechanized battalion in Sremska Mitrovica, director of the film Danilo Paskvan pointed out the patience and understanding of their hosts during the shooting of certain scenes, and the extraordinary dedication of actor Bojan Peric. A short promotional version for TV airing will soon be made from the two-minute documentary, Paskvan said, while the famous actor expressed his content with the continued cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia, without which, as he said, his professional path would certainly have been much more difficult.
