Exchange of practices in implementation of Resolution 1325 with the US
Secretary of State Zoran Djordjevic, President of the Government’s Political Council for the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia, met today with US expert on gender equality and public policy Swanee Hunt. The interlocutors exchanged experiences of the Republic of Serbia and US in matters of implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325.During he talks, Secretary of State Djordjevic stressed that the Government’s Political Council in the next few months will particularly focus on considering possibilities for improving the work of the current institutional bodies and mechanisms for implementation of NAP and on encouraging inter-sector cooperation and exchange of experiences and good practices in the country, region and the world, which would greatly benefit from US practices and support.
Swanee Hunt was invited to participate in the work of the international conference dedicated to matters of gender equality which will be held in October this year in Belgrade, in organization of the Ministry of Defence.
