Minister of Defence received Ambassador of Turkey
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic met with Ambassador of Turkey Mehmet Kemal Bozay, with whom he discussed the improvement of strategic cooperation in the field of defence.
Gasic and Bozay agreed that the friendly relations between the two countries provide a good foundation for the development of bilateral military cooperation. Minister of Defence stressed that Serbia sees Turkey as an important and reliable economic partner and that he believed that the positive experiences of the Turkish bank that is taking over the larger part of Cacanska Bank will attract other investors from that country.When it comes to chairing over OSCE, Bratislav Gasic stressed that Serbia will always insist on the necessity of resolving issues through agreements and mutual understanding, particularly in crisis situations. Minister Gasic said at the meeting that Serbia had joined the coalition against the Islamic State because it recognizes that this movement is the new security challenge.
Gasic thanked the Ambassador of Turkey for the donations for flood relief and added that he was looking forward to the upcoming bilateral defence consultations of the defence ministries of the two countries that will be held in Ankara on April 28-30, 2015.
