Workshop on building integrity in public procurements




At Topcider barracks, the three-day seminar “Building integrity in public procurements in defence” began, in organization of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, Supply Department, and the UK Defence Mission.

In the course of the workshop that represents the continuation of activities in the field of building integrity, topics discussed will include identifying risks in public procurement procedure in the field of defence and security, practical measures for improvement of integrity in managing defence in market conditions, use of outsourcing, and public-private partnerships, while special emphasis will be put on corruption and anti-corruption strategies.

While opening the meeting, Major general Bojan Zrnic, representative of Assistant Minister for material resources, stressed that the goal is to identify key challenges and present practical measures that could lead to improved transparency, responsibility and integrity in defence, by using experiences of professionals and experts from countries that had been dealing with issues of similar nature.


Participants of the seminar moderated by representatives of the International Transparency of UK organization were also greeted by Defence Attache Colonel Rob Tomlinson.

This activity will greatly contribute to finding measures that must be implemented for achieved integrity in the field of material resources management at the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia, to more efficient implementation of integrity plans in the system and more efficient battle against corruption.
