Tactical exercise of the Second Army Brigade with live shooting â��Ibar 2015â��

Today, one-sided tactical exercise of the Second Army Brigade with live shooting “Ibar 2015” was held on all-service training ground of "Pasuljanske livade", titled “Mechanized battalion in attack”. The exercise was attended by Deputy Head of the general Staff of Serbia Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Army Commander Major General Milosav Simovic, brigade and battalion commanders and other guests. 800 members of the Second Army Brigade participated in the exercise, and 63 military means were used.

After the end of the exercise, Deputy Head of the general Staff of Serbia Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic congratulated the members of the 27th mechanized battalion and other units of the Second Army Brigade on the successfully realized tactical exercise with live shooting and stressed that it had been preceded by numerous activities, realized in the process of individual and collective training and other kinds of training on training grounds, exercise fields and in offices.

“The exercise that you have conducted excellently, with well designed content, defined and set goal, is the crown of your training “. General Draganic said while addressing the participants of the exercise, and stressed: “You have invested vast effort, in rather difficult conditions, in order to achieve the goals of the exercises. We are leaving this training ground happy, because we have gained another tested unit in the domain of training and capacitating, which has also given our Armed Forces new quality, and SAF operative capabilities are on the rise. Military exercises are our profession; this is what makes us and the military proud”.

Second Army Brigade Commander Brigadier General Dragoslav Sladakovic stressed that the complex weather conditions did not stop the higher military staff and soldiers from conducting all assigned tasks successfully and that the fact that 583 targets out of 600 were hit is the best proof of the great results at the tactical exercise.

“Members of the Second Brigade have shown their training and competency”, General Sladakovic said, adding that the superior commands can rely on them.

Members of the Second Army Brigade had been on the all-service training ground of "Pasuljanske livade" since March 19. The goal of the tactical exercise was successful organization and performance of attack operation of mechanized battalion with artillery support, testing of training of the Command of the Second Brigade for conducting duties in the process of exercise planning, and, when it comes to units, testing of training for conjoined shooting and movement and conducting of tactical steps and procedures during the execution of attack operation.

The exercise displayed action of reconnaissance patrol, action of tank platoon on long distances, fire attack preparation, attack of the mechanized battalion and other activities, while shooting was conducted from M 84 tank, BVP M-80A, 122 mm self-propelled howitzer, BRDM-2 armored vehicle, 120 mm mortar and M-83 POLO.
