Preparations for the exercise �Balkan Response 2015�



Припреме за вежбу "Балкански одговор 2015"Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic visited today the military complex Ravnjak near Krusevac, where, on May 26-30, the multinational exercise Balkan Response 2015 will be held. The exercise will be attended by representatives of six countries from the region and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Lazarevic, Commander of the CBRN Center, the carrier of the activity, introduced Minister Gasic with the course of preparations for the civilian-military exercise, with the topic: Rescue action in conditions of contamination caused by terrorism, mass destruction weapons and accidents, which one of the most important ones in the Armed Forces of Serbia in 2015.

He conveyed his content with the course of preparations that had begun in September and confirmed that the training field is mostly cleared up, that the plumbing and lighting are set.

The goal is to make Ravnjak training ground a complex that will in the future be fully equipped for exercises and training of CBRN units from the country and the region.

At the upcoming exercise, aside from representatives of the military Medical Academy, CBRN Center in Krusevac and the 246th CBRN Battalion, national competitors will be members of the Red Cross of the Republic of Serbia, General Hospital in Krusevac, Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior, which will also be represented by a special anti-terrorist unit, and the National Criminalistic-Technical Centre.
