He reminded that over 1400 apartments have been given to members of the defence system in the past two and a half years.

- Today, here, we continue showing that material security and good living conditions of the employed at the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia are sine our top priorities – Minister of Defence stressed, adding that, for the new apartment owners, this is a new beginning, and a conformation that everything can be solved if there is good will.

According to him, the first 250 apartments are expected at the end of the month, and negotiations are under way with the City of Belgrade for real estate exchange, where the same number of residential units is expected as well.

- SAF and MoD have allocated over 500 million dinars for 2015 in order to use subsidiary loans to help members of the defence system get their real estate – Minister Gasic explained, stating that the key issue is resolving problematic situations with local governments related to military property, such as military houses in Smederevska Palanka and Nis.

He also stressed that an action is under way to register military apartments that had previously not been recorded, and that talks are being held with the investment fund in relation to construction of apartments in Surcin.
