Commended SAF members in Cyprus



On the occasion of the end of deployment of contingents in the UNFICYP multinational operation, at the Mission Command in Nicosia, a ceremony was held for awarding acknowledgements to UNFICYP members who gave remarkable contribution in realization of tasks. Force Commander Kristin Lund awarded acknowledgements to members of Sector 4, including three members of the Armed Forces of Serbia.

For extraordinary efforts and contribution to the mission, acknowledgements were awarded to Staff Sergeant 1st class Ivan Ilic, Corporal Vladimir Stankovic and Lance Corporal Bojan Mihajlovic.

The Armed Forces of Serbia began deployments in UNFICYP multinational operation on October 21, 2010 with referral of six-member patrol to the operation zone. Currently, 46 SAF members are deployed in that mission (a staff officer, military observers, and patrol and infantry platoon members).
